Baton Rouge police lieutenant dies unexpectedly, BRPD says

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department mourns the death of Lt. Ira Roberts, who served the department in various divisions for over 27 years.

According to BRPD, Roberts died unexpectedly on Friday, March 13. His experience included working as commander of the auto theft division, honor guard, armed robbery and as a shift lieutenant at Third District.
