Investigation leads to arrest of Brusly smoke shop owner

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A month-long investigation led to the arrest of a Brusly business owner and the revocation of alcohol and tobacco licenses, the Brusly Police Department said.

In early March, the Brusly Police Department received a complaint from a juvenile’s mother alleging that Ramez Smoke Shop at 142 N. Vaughan Drive sold alcohol to her child. Police notified the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), prompting an investigation that included surveillance.

On April 2, detectives watched a juvenile enter the smoke shop and exit after purchasing a vape. The juvenile’s driver’s license confirmed they were underage. Detectives then made contact with the store owner, who admitted to the sale. He was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons, police said…
