Audit uncovers alleged fraud by former town clerk in White Castle

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new audit report from the Louisiana Legislative Auditor shows that a former town clerk of White Castle was allegedly depositing over $19,000 into personal accounts.

An independent auditor, Kolder, Slaven & Company, conducted a financial audit for the town of White Castle in Iberville Parish, ranging from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025.

The auditor believed there was an instance of misappropriated funds or fraud during that time frame, where $19,671 were unaccounted for in the administrative department. The funds from the town’s video poker revenue and franchise fee revenue were deposited into a personal bank account rather than the town’s official bank account…
