A Storm Team 10 Weather Alert is in place this Tuesday morning as heavy rain showers may cause flooding on roadways during the early portion of the commute.
As of 5 a.m., a Flood Warning is in effect for portions of Providence, Kent, Washington, and Bristol counties. A half-inch to one inch of rainfall could fall in a short period of time, leading to flooded roadways.
These storms are training over Narragansett Bay through Washington and Bristol Counties. Training storms sit and drop heavy rainfall over the same spot for a long period of time, which gives the risk for flooding.
