Montana National Guard team supports Seattle World Cup safety

Seattle, Wash. — A Montana National Guard support team has been in Seattle for nearly a month to help with public safety tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The city is one of the tournament’s host sites, and the Montana National Guard’s 83rd Support Team is there to provide added support alongside local and federal agencies.

Commander Adam Karlin confirmed the team is in Seattle to provide civil support and hazmat support. He said soldiers have radiation and atmospheric monitoring equipment in and around the stadium to help detect changes and elevated readings of any kind…
