OLYMPIA, Wash. — “Jimothy,” a beloved raccoon with short spine syndrome, has taken Seattle — and the world — by storm. Now, Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson is bestowing a new accolade upon the controversially cute critter.
Video of the raccoon scurrying across a Ballard backyard surfaced online earlier this month, wracking up millions of views and turning the creature into an overnight internet sensation. Neighborhood residents say Jimothy has roamed the area for years.
