Socialist Katie Wilson accused of not paying workers at provider hired for her own gun violence initiative

Seattle’s socialist mayor, who campaigned on standing up for workers, was publicly confronted Tuesday by the head of a violence-intervention organization who says City Hall has failed to pay for labor already performed under one of the mayor’s own signature gun violence programs.

Dr. Jacqualine Boles, owner and clinical director of Redeemed Wellness Center, confronted Mayor Katie Wilson during a press conference on the Bite of Seattle mass shooting, accusing the city of withholding approximately $65,000 in reimbursements while her organization continues helping gunshot victims and covering payroll from its own reserves.
