KIRO hosts Gee Scott and Ursula Reutin were relieved to see Kshama Sawant, who served on the Seattle City Council for a decade, finish in third place in the primary.
Sawant, who left the Socialist Alternative Party in 2024 to form her own Revolutionary Workers Party, ran as an independent and received 8,896 votes, or 12.6%.
“I don’t like Kshama Sawant,” Gee said on “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio. “I don’t think Kshama Sawant is a good person. Go back to her awful comments two hours after Paul Allen passed away. That angered me so much. And so whenever I see Kshama Sawant — and maybe you all have your candidates too, I’m sorry, I’m human — the fact that she’s in third place, and the thing that I said to myself is, ‘Self, is this it?’”…
