Huskies Appear Ready to Use Carr Service to Run the Ball

Not everyone had found a seat at Husky Stadium for Saturday night’s mock game when, on the third snap, Quaid Carr took a handoff, charged through the left side of the line and sprinted 56 yards to score.

For the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Carr, this likely was an exclamation mark on his steady bid to become the University of Washington’s No. 1 running back for the season opener against Washington State in one of the team’s more crucial position battles.

While no official pronouncement was made about this particular spot, coach Jedd Fisch intimated that most lineup battles have been settled with two weeks to go before the Apple Cup kickoff…
