Washington’s I-5 corridor one of the worst for commuters, report says

On a good day, driving the 34 miles between Tacoma and Seattle on Interstate 5 could take 45 minutes. But that commute time is the exception, not the rule.  A Mission for Michael, a mental healthcare organization based in California, recently surveyed drivers to figure out which commutes across the U.S. are the most associated with burnout. The survey factored in congestion and construction along with time it takes to get to work. Each “burnout belt,” as Mission of Michael calls each suburb-metro area drive, reveals where “the daily journey has become an invisible extension of the workday.”  The Tacoma-Seattle commute is ranked as the #6 commute for burnout in the nation, according to the study. Commuting from Renton to Bellevue also made the list at #30.
