CEO behind controversial diet drug company dodges questions for months — until now

KIRKLAND, Wash. — A San Francisco news crew, dispatched at KING 5’s request, caught up with Myra Ahmad last month at a women’s health conference. She was there as a sponsor and featured speaker — a polished executive and founder of Mochi Health, a telehealth company that has sold weight-loss drugs to patients across the country.

What followed was a brief exchange that Ahmad has been working for months to avoid.

“We’ve been trying to reach you about some of the issues at one of Mochi’s pharmacies in Washington,” NBC Bay Area reporter Candice Nguyen told her. “We want to ask about some of the serious findings by the state of Washington.”…
