Suspect turns himself in, admits to car thefts, burglaries in Redmond, Tumwater

REDMOND, Wash. — What began as a reported car theft in Redmond quickly grew into a multi-county investigation involving burglaries, stolen cars, and a confession.

On April 18, officers were dispatched to a home in the 7800 block of 170th Pl NE, where a resident reported that their vehicle was stolen overnight. The suspect had entered the home through a window while the occupants were asleep, taking a key fob and bank card before driving off in the vehicle, according to Redmond police.

Using a vehicle tracking app, the victim later located the car at a gas station in another county. Redmond officers worked with the agency that recovered the vehicle and linked the suspect to a home burglary and a second vehicle theft that occurred after the first car was abandoned…
