Scam experts warn deed fraud is on the rise, could cost thousands

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The FBI’s latest numbers show more than 58,000 people lost more than a billion dollars to real estate fraud in just four years, between 2019 and 2023. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) calls it a growing threat.

One of the newest threats of real estate fraud is called property deed fraud.
