Wind gusts and saturated soil from heavy rains have left scattered power outages cross West Central Alabama today. No significant flooding has been reported in the area according to county Emergency Management Agencies in the area. Most of the flooding issues are northeast, east and south of Tuscaloosa County.
Currently, 5,531 homes and businesses are without power in Alabama. The state has the 4th most power outages in the US and ranks 4th for percentage of customers affected nationwide according to the U.S. Power Outages Map.
Out of 67 counties in Alabama, Jefferson County has the most outages with 2,826 customers without power.
