The Alabama High School Athletic Association has named Birmingham broadcaster Scott Griffin as its new Director of Communications.
Griffin, appointed by AHSAA Executive Director Heath Harmon, will join the organization Thursday, June 25 and succeeds Ron Ingram, who retired Dec. 31 after serving in the role since 2007.
Griffin brings more than 45 years of experience in television and radio sports journalism to the communications department. He has served as sports director and anchor at WIAT CBS 42 since 2004 and has spent stints at other major Birmingham television stations, including WBRC, WVTM, WBMA and WABM.
