The Birmingham Parks and Recreation Board has scaled back the number of city pools that will be open this summer after inspections revealed maintenance issues.
Birmingham has 13 city pools, though many of them will be closed this summer due to maintenance concerns, some of which are longstanding. Five of the pools, however, are open and safe for community members to use.
