A Birmingham man has been sentenced to 63 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Deverick Dewayne Croom, 35, plead guilty in April after being arrested on Aug. 12, 2020. An officer with the Birmingham Police Department (BPD) were responding to a domestic violence call where the victim said that Croom had stolen her phone and money, as well as shot at, assaulted and strangled her.
BPD followed up on the call at a local hotel, forcing their way into a room when no one answered the door. Inside, officers found 10 bags of marijuana (each containing approximately 3.5 g), over 200 pills containing methamphetamine and an AR-style rifle…
