A foursome of ranked Birmingham-area high school volleyball teams will play at a unique venue on Saturday.
Vestavia Hills, Thompson, Spain Park and Mountain Brook are eschewing the standard gym setting for outdoor elements at Wald Park in Vestavia Hills.
“Some college programs have done it, either on campus or on a quad or on a lawn somewhere around, and some high school events have been done across the country,” said Vestavia Hills coach Ashley Hardee. “I’m a sports fan, a volleyball fan and like to do everything we can to celebrate our team and all the talents that we have.
