Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin on Monday announced a comprehensive five-year roadmap designed to reduce gun violence, strengthen community safety and address the underlying conditions that contribute to the cycles of violence.
The Violence Reduction Strategic Plan – coordinated by the City of Birmingham’s Office of Community Safety Initiatives (CSI) – is aimed in part at reaching an annual 10 percent reduction in homicides and non-fatal shootings.
