Hoover neighbors ask city to act on vacant, deteriorating home

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – Neighbors on Mountain Oaks Lane in Hoover said a vacant house on their street has fallen into disrepair, drawing wildlife, vandals, and complaints to city hall. Residents told WBRC the home has been vacant for 20-30 years.

Neighbors describe deteriorating conditions

Jennifer Campbell, who has lived next door for more than 10 years, said the house is falling apart.

“It looks like it’s literally falling apart from the inside out,” Campbell said.

“If you take a look at it from the outside… it’s not structurally sound. The overgrowth is taking over the house,” Lee Anna McGuire, another neighbor said…
