Hoover, Alabama, tenants warned water could go off again after nearly 2 weeks without it

Renters at Lorna Place Apartments in Hoover, Alabama, could be facing yet another water shutoff after already going nearly two weeks without service.

According to WBRC, residents received a notice warning that water service could be shut off again, even though property management had restored service after a partial payment. Central Alabama Water had scheduled a Sept. 28 shutoff under its standard policies.

The utility says it is trying to reach terms with Lorna Place management that would allow water to remain on at both Lorna Place and Park at Galleria. If those talks fail, another shutoff remains possible.

The Jefferson County Department of Health said it is aware of the notice and is watching the situation. Hoover officials also said the city will not make the final call and has asked Central Alabama Water to share updates as they arise.
