I was arrested while sitting at home watching TV – police handcuffed me so tightly my hand had to be amputated

AN amputee claimed his injury was caused by cops who had handcuffed him too tightly during an arrest, according to a complaint.

Giovanni Loyola is suing the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama and claimed the blood circulation in his wrists was blocked.

Loyola, 28, filed a federal civil rights complaint that alleged the officers used excessive force against him during an unlawful arrest, according to AL.com.

He was arrested on February 16, 2020, for disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace.

In his complaint, Loyola, who is from Pinson, claimed that he was watching TV in his mother’s trailer that evening.

A report later filed by a cop at the scene, Deputy Christopher Godber, said police were called with reports of gunshots and two men fighting.

Loyola, who was 25 at the time, claimed that he did not fight with anybody however, his brothers could have been arguing outside of the trailer.
