The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) has begun their 13th murder investigation of 2026 after a shooting on Saturday, April 17.
The victim, who won’t be identified until their next of kin is notified, was found unresponsive on the ground with a gunshot wound. BPD were responding to reports of shots fired when they found the victim in a parking lot in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue North just before midnight.
