BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – 15 years ago, more than 60 tornadoes hit Alabama, killing more than 250 people. One of the hardest hit areas in Jefferson County was Pratt City.
Former Birmingham Mayor William Bell said what he remembers most about that day was the community response.
“What I want people to take away from the storm that we had 15 years ago is that you can survive and you can even thrive if you just work together,” Bell said. “And that sense of solidarity and common purpose was able to push all of us forward to make a change in this community.”…
