According to a complaint just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Diane Staples was walking across a designated path in a parking lot near the Southern Boulevard exit on Feb. 17, 2026, when Laura M. Reyes, operating a vehicle while working as a DoorDash delivery driver, struck her. Staples suffered what the lawsuit describes as severe and permanent injuries, including physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, and a lasting loss of quality of life.
The four-count complaint goes well beyond blaming the driver. It accuses DoorDash of vicarious liability, negligent hiring, and negligent supervision, arguing the company knew — or should have known — that Reyes had an unsafe history of traffic violations and crashes before putting her behind the wheel.
