Suspect held without bond in Boca Raton parking lot murder of insurance whistleblower

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A suspect arrested in the April shooting death of a Plantation man made his first court appearance Saturday and is being held without bond.

The Boca Raton Police Department announced Friday that 58-year-old Willie Byrd Jr. was arrested in connection with the murder of 37-year-old Arman Motiwalla.

According to police, detectives obtained an arrest warrant Thursday following what they described as an extensive investigation. Byrd was taken into custody Friday afternoon and is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail…
