WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A South Florida man who says he left his prized Mercedes in his apartment garage before traveling out of state for a family emergency returned to find the car gone — and he still does not know where it is.
Ehsan Bassam said he owned a 2008 Mercedes SL65 AMG, describing it as “a V12 twin turbo, hard top convertible,” adding, “They don’t make these kinds of cars anymore. And at the time, it was the world’s fastest automatic car.”
Bassam said the car was deeply personal and meant as a gift for his father. “It was a car my father had always wanted when I was younger, and he put an order on that car,” Bassam said. “Unfortunately, you know, the economy went south and he could no longer afford that car.” He said he later bought the vehicle with the goal of giving it to his father: “And I’ve always kept that in my mind of getting that car for him one day.”…
