Mom of 16 leads Tequesta’s Freedom 4 Miler race to honor fallen heroes and their families

TEQUESTA, Fla (CBS12) — As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary on Independence Day, thousands of runners and walkers are expected to gather in Tequesta for an event dedicated to honoring fallen service members and the families they left behind.

The 10th annual Freedom 4 Miler is scheduled for Saturday morning and serves as the largest fundraiser for Believe With Me, a nonprofit that supports Gold Star families nationwide.

Founded by Lyette Reback, a mother of 16, the organization works to assist families who have lost loved ones while serving in the military.

“This is the 10th annual Freedom 4 Miler, and it’s so incredible that it’s actually happening on the 250th birthday of the signing of the Declaration of Independence,” Reback said. “It’s just a really big show of patriotism.”…
