A Florida family is grieving the loss of their 3-year-old daughter, Briella, who tragically died after becoming trapped inside a toy kitchen play set at a babysitter’s home.

The incident occurred on July 23 in the Meadows of Boynton Beach community when police were called shortly after 11 a.m. to reports of a child not breathing. Upon arrival, officers found Briella unresponsive with her head stuck inside the play kitchen. Emergency personnel immediately performed life-saving measures, and she was transported to a nearby hospital where she remained in critical condition until her passing four days later, on July 27.

Authorities revealed that Briella and her sibling were under the care of a babysitter at the time. However, the babysitter had left the home, leaving the children with her spouse. The spouse was upstairs while the children played downstairs, intermittently checking on them and providing snacks.

During one of these checks, the spouse discovered Briella trapped in the toy kitchen and quickly freed her, beginning CPR until first responders arrived. According to the sibling, some toys had fallen inside the play set, and Briella became stuck while attempting to retrieve them.

At this time, no criminal charges have been filed, and the investigation remains active.

Family and friends have created a GoFundMe page in Briella’s memory, describing her as “a bright light in the lives of so many.” The fundraiser honors her kind heart, beautiful spirit, and infectious smile, highlighting the profound impact she had on those around her. Contributions are intended to assist with funeral and memorial expenses as her loved ones cope with this heartbreaking loss.

The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released details regarding the official cause of death.
