We pulled the article earlier this morning after some suggested it was too snarky — even for us. We love snark. But we certainly didn’t mean to be more offensive and aggressive than we normally are.
Even after pulling our original story, however, we’ve been receiving calls from supporters and advertisers of BocaNewsNow.com, all laughing. Why are they laughing? Because they’re apparently being targeted by some adults who say they will boycott their business because of our reporting. If ever there is a question as to the power and reach of BocaNewsNow.com, consider that statement: “we will boycott you because you support BocaNewsNow.com.” What a great compliment. As businesses have pointed out: “it certainly speaks to your publication’s reach.”
As for skirt gate: we acknowledge our article may have been a bit much. We’re a bit much so it seems on brand. If parents believe that they’re being wronged, we certainly support their right to protest. However, we again note that private schools are private. They can pretty much set any rule that they want. Parents agree to policies and procedures when they sign contracts…
