High School Pitcher overcomes adversity in Dominant fashion

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County high school pitcher is turning adversity into dominance on the mound, and delivering when it matters most. Park Vista senior Cody Wexler tossed his second straight shutout, leading his team to a 2-0 win over Tohopekaliga in the regional quarterfinals.

He allowed just five hits and struck out six, continuing an unbeaten season with a remarkably low ERA.

“We’re a strong team, we’re always going to battle,” Wexler said. “There’s always guys, if someone’s down, will pick them up. Just having to trust the defense back there and knowing I’ve got good guys back there, and they’re going to help me out a lot.”…
