Woman charged again in pickpocket scheme targeting elderly shoppers with wigs, disguises

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman previously tied to a scheme targeting elderly shoppers at stores across Palm Beach County is now facing additional charges, according to a newly released arrest report.

Tammy Lorraine Evans, 57, of Boynton Beach, was arrested by Boynton Beach police and charged with multiple felonies, including organized scheme to defraud a person over 65, fraudulent use of personal identification, theft of a credit card and possession of a stolen credit or debit card.

The arrest stems from a months-long investigation into a pattern of thefts at stores including Ross and Dollar Tree along North Congress Avenue — the same locations highlighted in a previous CBS12 report in March, where police said suspects used disguises to steal from elderly victims and quickly rack up charges at nearby retailers…
