BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Eagle City Council voted on Tuesday to approve a resolution to restrict the use of fireworks in areas that constitute a severe fire threat.
The resolution comes on the heels of fireworks stands opening in Boise. The City of Boise also announced a ban on fireworks along the Boise foothills. The foothills and surrounding areas constitute the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). With the passage of Eagle’s resolution, the entire foothills or WUI chain from Boise through Eagle is off limits to any and all types of fireworks, including non-aerial fireworks like sparklers.
