Third defendant in Boise bank robbery sentenced to 35 years

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a recent news release, District Judge James Cawthon sentenced 51-year-old Edward Prescott to 35 years in prison, with no possibility of parole for 15 years following his April 16 conviction by jury on one count of Robbery.

Prescott is the last of three defendants sentenced in connection with a February 2025 armed robbery at an Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) branch in Boise, where they made off with $1,500.

The release says that while one of Prescott’s accomplices, Eddie Belen, entered ICCU in a motorcycle helmet and mask, demanding cash from a teller at gunpoint, a second accomplice, Brittany Marcum, Prescott’s girlfriend, was creating a distraction by calling 911 to report a fake active shooter at a store seven miles away, hoping to pull police attention elsewhere…
