Claremont Fire now at 85-percent containment; hot, dry, and smoky conditions to linger

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 3 has taken over command of the Claremont Fire as crews continue to work on containment and strengthening fire lines.

A high-pressure system is expected to continue to bring hot, dry temperatures to the region over the next several days. Heat and air quality advisories are in effect for parts of the area. Temperatures are expected to reach triple digits. Smoke will also be an issue this week, especially in southeast Oregon and eventually into southwest Idaho.
