A portion of Interstate 84 in Caldwell is closed after a vehicle struck the U.S. Highway 26 bridge on Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Idaho Transportation Department.
The right lane of eastbound I-84 north of Caldwell near Exit 26 is expected to remain closed for several hours, so maintenance crews can remove loose metal from the bridge.
The U.S. 26 bridge is also closed pending an inspection to assess the extent of the damage. The Idaho Transportation Department says it will reopen lanes on the bridge as soon as it is safe to do so…
