BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — More than 80 years after he was reported missing in action during World War II, U.S. Army Pvt. Donald L. Shutts will be laid to rest in Idaho.
Shutts, who died when he was 20, will be interred on Monday, August 10, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Bowman Funeral Directors are coordinating services and interment.
In February 1944, Shutts, who was from Nebraska, was assigned to Company F, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. Shutts was reported missing after his unit had a run-in with German forces near the town of Ponte Rotto, Italy.
