STAR, Idaho (CBS2) — Explosions and burning chemical barrels forced firefighters to take a defensive approach Friday afternoon as a utility van and trailer burned near a construction site in Middleton.
Middleton-Star firefighters were dispatched at about 3:19 p.m. on 8/7/26 to the area of W. State Street and N. Quincannon Lane for a vehicle fire with possible explosions. When crews arrived, they found a utility van and trailer fully involved, with the fire beginning to extend into a nearby building under construction.
Because of multiple explosions and barrels of chemicals on fire, firefighters deployed large master streams to cool the area and stabilize the incident before moving closer to address hot spots…
