STOUGHTON, Mass. (WPRI) — The former Stoughton police officer accused of killing a woman he sexually exploited and her unborn son will remain behind bars ahead of his murder trial.
Chief Magistrate Judge M. Page Kelley denied Matthew Farwell’s request to be released from custody after determining he poses a danger to the public, is a flight risk and has a history of obstructing justice.
Farwell, 40, was arrested in August 2024 and charged with killing a witness or victim in connection with the suspicious death of Sandra Birchmore.
