Conviction affirmed of man sentenced to prison for raping underage girl at Massachusetts migrant shelter

BROCKTON – The state Appeals Court affirmed the conviction of a man today who was sentenced in October of 2025 to serve 10-12 years in state prison for the rape of an underage girl at a migrant shelter in Rockland, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

28-year-old Cory Alvarez was found guilty of one count of Aggravated Rape of a Child with 10 Year Age Difference on September 12, 2025, after an eight-day trial in Plymouth Superior Court.

In an unpublished decision, the Appeals Court ruled that the Commonwealth met its evidentiary burden, various evidentiary rulings by the trial judge were correct, and the prosecutor’s closing argument was proper…
