The town of Wellesley is suing the state to stop a proposed housing development on a MassBay Community College parking lot.
The state has proposed building 180 homes on what is now a 5-acre parking lot under a new program that makes vacant or underused state-owned land available for housing construction. But the plan has faced vehement opposition from some residents, who worry that it would negatively impact the adjacent forest.
