Boston mail carrier pleads guilty in connection with stashing 14,000 missing packages in storage unit

A former mail carrier pleaded guilty to failing to deliver more than 14,000 packages to Massachusetts residents — instead stashing them in a storage unit he rented.

Khalea Turner, a 29-year-old Hull resident, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Turner began working as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in November 2022, and over the next three years he stole about 14,700 pieces of mail, prosecutors said. Turner stored the mail in a U-Haul locker he rented in Weymouth, with some packages including passports, jury notifications, government checks and education documents…
