Auchincloss poll shows big lead over primary challenger Poulos

SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) — A survey commissioned by Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss’s reelection campaign shows him running 47 points ahead of his Democratic primary challenger Jason Poulos, according to a memo obtained by 12 News.

The one-page document from Auchincloss’s pollster, Global Strategy Group, says a survey of 400 likely 4th Congressional District primary voters conducted late last month found Auchincloss at 64% and Poulos at 17%, and that 56% of voters said they would “definitely” support the incumbent.

The 4th District stretches from Fall River north through the Attleboros and Taunton up to Brookline and Newton, where Auchincloss lives. The poll found Auchincloss running strongest in the Providence/New Bedford TV market that covers the Bristol County portion of his district, with 71% support here, against 60% in the Boston TV market, according to the memo…
