BOSTON — An escalator inside South Station was a crime scene Wednesday night, but Thursday it was filled with its usual commuters during the morning rush.
Commuter rail riders lined up in front of the departure board to see when their trains were set to arrive, backpacks and briefcases in hand, while others filed from their trains through the station and down to the red and silver line tracks.
Some of them were unaware that on the same escalator they rode down to the subway was a taped-off area by police for an ongoing fatal stabbing investigation the night before.
