Two more human cases of West Nile virus have been identified in Massachusetts, bringing the total number of human cases this year to five, state health officials announced Monday.
One of the new cases is a man in his 80s who was exposed to the virus in Middlesex County, officials said. The other is a man in his 70s who is believed to have been exposed to the virus in Suffolk County.
As of Aug. 31, the West Nile virus risk level remains high in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Everett, Newton, Somerville and Watertown. The risk level in 206 other communities across Massachusetts is considered moderate…
