WILMINGTON — Wilmington Public Schools recently received a cease and desist letter from the University of Arizona regarding the use of the Wildcat logo. According to the letter, the town must stop using the existing logo, as it is an officially registered trademark belonging to their university.
New Superintendent Matthew Poska explained that, while the university is understanding of the time it will take to fully phase out usage of the licensed design, the district will have to begin efforts to remove all instances of the U of A Wildcat.
Thankfully, the large logo on the WHS turf will be allowed to remain until the turf itself is due for replacement in several years…
