A Massachusetts school bus company has agreed to pay $440,000 to settle allegations that it improperly raised prices and misled officials about transportation contracts in Lynn, Dedham and Saugus, according to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
Under the agreement, JSC Transportation Services will split the money among the three communities. The company must also maintain a program to ensure it follows competition laws for at least five years, cooperate with future state investigations and report any efforts by competitors to manipulate bidding or pricing for student transportation contracts in Massachusetts, the attorney general’s office said in a statement on Sept. 17.
JSC, headquartered in Waltham, provides transportation for students with disabilities in school districts statewide. The company also operates through related businesses, including YCN Transportation and MassTran Corp., which also offer transportation services for students with disabilities…
