The Emmy-winning Apple TV series “Widow’s Bay” is set on an island off the coast of New England, but is the sleepy town a real place?
No, Widow’s Bay is a fictional locale. In the comedy horror series, Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Matthew Rhys, expresses dreams of the town becoming the next Martha’s Vineyard or Bar Harbor. Martha’s Vineyard is an island in Massachusetts and Bar Harbor is a resort town in Maine, but “Widow’s Bay” creator Katie Dippold wanted to leave the town’s exact location a mystery.
