The Cities of Revere and Everett answered the requests by U.S. troops stationed in Syria, thanks to the veterans of the Joseph L. Mottolo VFW Post 4524 under Commander Matthew Cunningham, the Beachmont VFW Post 6712, under Commander Ken Holgersen, the City of Revere headed by Mayor Patrick Keefe, Jr. and the City of Everett Veterans Services Department and Mayor Carlo DeMaria. Local veterans and families went out and collected a room full of nonperishable treats for the troops. Last week volunteers gathered at the Mottolo Post in Revere and packaged up the collected items to be sent to Syria. Mayors Keefe and DeMaria offered their full support of their cities, helping to fund the project.
