BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The stage is set — or rather, the street — with restaurants staking their claim with chairs, yellow tape, and more, marking where customers will soon be able to kick back and enjoy outdoor dining in Boston.
On Newbury Street, restaurants have been sectioned off where people will soon be able to sit at curbside tables and enjoy family, friends, and food. Patrons like Alexandria are hoping that the chilly days are coming to an end so that she can fully embrace the outdoor experience.
“I think it makes the city more alive because you’re walking around, and then you see everybody outside. So, it makes you want to be outside more,” she said. “I’m excited because it means like summer’s coming up soon.”
The city says the program supports restaurants by helping them expand seating capacity through outdoor patios. Fans of the outdoor dining program can check the city website to find a map of locations and participating restaurants thanks to an interactive map of locations.
